Hard Rock Cafe

Went and visited the Tap Gallery to check out The Forgotten Ones, photos taken my Ming Nomchong about orphan children in Cambodia. The photos were beautiful.

After that we had cravings for Onions Ring from Hard Rock Cafe so we decided to head there. As we were walking up to the Cafe and bus load of Japanese Tourists arrived and we thought we were going to be in 'service' trouble as more attention would obviously be placed on these high rollers, but we were wrong. The service was promt and very friendly.

Rod and I both ordered Onion Rings with Hickery Smoked BBQ sauce (mmm hickory smoked) and I also ordered a Haystack Chicken Salad. Kirsten ordered nachos which ended up being absolutely huge while Rod ordered a Veggie Burgers while Eddie got the Bacon Cheese Burger.

I would love to go into more details however Im not feeling to well. Maybe I will expand in a couple of days all I can say is my salad was really good, I loved the tortilla bits on top and the fatty ranch type dressing was creamy and subtle.
YUMMM onions ringsMy Chicken Haystack SaladEddie's Bacon Cheeseburger

Kirstens Nachos SO big!

Rod's Vegie Burger

I get very nervous when wait people do not write orders down especially somewhere really casual like the Hard Rock Cafe but out waiter got it all right (barr rod wanting the onion rings on the side not a complete order of them them) but got my 'no tomato's' and rods 'no cheese or dairy' absolutely right yeye!

Vegetarian Weekend - Tofu House

So Chinese New Year the actual Sunday we are not meant to eat meat nor dairy products so bascially we are vegan for the day! As Chinese New Year Day means you can do any work like cleaning or cooking I tool my family out for lunch.

All the vegetarian places in Cabramatta were chockers but we were able to stumble into one in an alley way that only had a few patrons. Looking at it, the place looked new and as it is in a alleyway not very popular or known.

My mum ordered a noodle dish with tofu and I had a taste, it was slightly sweet, salty and sour-y all in one, it was really good. My dad, brother and myself ordered stir fried noddles with vegies, tofu and fake meat, this was SO good, so unbelieveably good, there was this slight curry flavour ot it but very light. We also ordered some spring rolls. YUM i would definately go back.

Bodhi's Vegetarian Yum Cha

Went to Bodhis on Saturday Morning with Kirsten and Tania. We went overboard saying yes to everything, we really should have paced ourselves but we didnt and we rolled out after...

I didnt like these much it was sweet on the outside and savoury on the inside....so very wrong

Curry Puffs....yeah I could have gotten this from an Indian Takeaway...again i felt ripped off

Mushroom Dumplings...finally we are onto a winner

YUMM i loved these - mushrooms with bok choy

Fried bean curd

I know gross picture but i forgot!! these were yum too

Spinach dumplings - yummo

These were the absolute WORST brown rice with seaweed, really strong seawed flaour, I had a little bit and put it in Kirsts bowl...she gave up as well lol

Red Bean dessert puff things we didnt eat these til later...When we did we shared one - again very full..

Deep fried bean curd things these were yum different from the other bean curds we had, these were really light.

Fake versions of one of my faves...i didnt eat these because Tania pulled a funny face when she took a bite and i was was getting really really full.

these meat versions are MY FAVES....I dont know if I was excited about these because...really i was SO full, had these have come out earlier I would have probably gone...nuts. Abit light on the sauce though.

YUM surprise of the day, these were delicious...BBQ buns yummm

AND YOU THOUGHT IT WAS OVER ??

We walked to China town to catch the light rail and after waiting ages for those cakey pancakey filled with filling things at the markets I settled with Emperor Puffs YUUMMM HOT and cheap....oozing with delicious custard oh and 5 for $1....

Biggest Downside? I love my dumplings with Hot CHilli Sauce and they didnt have it, the waitresses were mainly nice, one evil one but overall pretty damn good service...but no hot chilli sauce.

Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year Everyone!!! Welcome the Year of the Pig...

On Friday Eddie and I went to visit the markets in Dxon Street in ChinaTown to get in on the festivities and boy were there festivities.

After getting through the hustle and bustle where i got super exicted over the food then annoyed because it took so long to get anything it was good times :)

Im so depressed about those sweet cakes things above, on the Friday night it was jam packed there were rows of raffle ticket things so I figured no but then I went back after dinner and it was packed again. On the Saturday as we walked through China town to get home, I was going to buy some but it took the guy 5 mins to write 3 chocolate for the customer before me so I gave up.

Following on from this and the purchase of some soy sauce and laughing at the Spam stall Eddie and I headed to Fujiya for Japanese.

Busy and buzzing the waitresses looked so cute and pretty and everyone was prompt and friendly.

Eddie ordered Octopus Balls and a noodle dish while i ordered Agedashi Tofu and bite sized beef, I also order a Japanese alcoholic Lemon drink it was delicious and refershing!

Octopus Balls - you see Im not a seafood fan... BLAH

Agedashi Tofu - I had to pull off the fishy flaky moving things...but i do love this

Bite Sized Steak bits - these were alittle tough, would have liked it rarer but it was still nice.

Valentines 2007 - Spanish Tapas Glebe

Happy Valentines Day!
Eddie and I decided to go somewhere comfortable, affordable and somewhere we had never been before and thus at the last minute decided on Spanish Tapas on Glebe Point Road Glebe.
We arrived on time (for our 7:30 booking) and was shown how to get to the courtyard...then was told to find our own table. Ok not bad I mean one half of me is thinking 'show us to our table dammit' the other is thinking 'atleast we get to sit where we want'.

Our menus came quickly and after deliberating for a short time we made our decision: -
Patatas al ajillo (potatoes in garlic sauce)
ChampiƱones al ajillo (garlic mushrooms)
Albondigas a la espaƱola (meatballs cooked in tomato sauce)
Pincho moruno (marinated lamb skewers)
Traditional Spanish Salad
Herb Bread

plus a glass of sangria just to get me into the valentines Spanish spirit!

The meals came out surprisingly fast actually, and the waiter who was serving us was fantastic, really friendly and we were quite pleased and we definately ordered the right amount to the point we couldnt finish the mushrooms to much deep fried crumby goodness.

Sangria Me!!! $5.00

Traditional Spanish Salad $9.00

Herb Bread $4.00

Golden Crumbed Mushrooms $11.50

Marinated Lamb Skewers $11.50

Garlic Potatos $9.50

Meatballs $11.50

And this is where is gets abit loose. After we finished our meals I asked the the waitress if there was a dessert menu to which she said loudly 'HUH' I kind of moved my head back and said a little louder 'is there a dessert menu' Eddie laughed because he could see how shocked i was not in a bad way i was just caught off gaurd. I decided on Churros con Chocolate quoted on the menu as: -
“Churros” are finger-like pastries coated in sugar and cinnamon. Traditionally they are served with “chocolate”, a smooth rich hot chocolate in which the churros are dipped. “Churros con Chocolate” is a favourite for many Spaniards after a long night out.

Yummo i couldnt wait...I got the waitress's attention and ordered the churros to which she asked 'And den?' like that movie...Dude wheres my Car...it was freakin hilarious! Then i waited.....and waited ....and waited....finally Eddie asked for the Bill thinking she may have forgotten to put the order in but when we got the bill the Churros were there so we decided to wait. The waitress came and went to take our bill to whhich i said 'im just waiting on the churros' and she looked startled and said 'oh your churros' and ran off then i waited and waited then she came back and cleaned a table and while walking down the stairs said 'i will go check on your churros'. finally she came...with CHURROS YEY. They were hot and delicious maybe not worth the wait but still they were good.

Overall it was a good night I just might not get dessert again.

Churros con Chocolate $8.50 mmm

refreshing end

After eating all the absolute crap i had on the weekend i felt fat, heavy and annoyed. While I wanted to head out I also had no energy to do anything, still nothing in the fridge...i need pay day so badly!

So I decided on some chicken thigh fillets that i had in the freezer and decided to make a rice noodle salad.

I can honestly I felt so good after, although i didnt have alot of ingrediants it turned out so well even Eddie when for thirds!

I made a HUGE bowl of it! Chicken marinated in soy, garlic and abit of peanut oil, some lettuce, carrot, mushroom, peanuts and bean sprouts and of course the rice noodles

Covered in my mums fish sauce yum

Ahh i feel much better

Happy Birthday Tony

OK my brother is a big eater! You know what he wanted for his birthday? His sister to cook a feast with ample amounts of left overs and lots of meat! Yes! He also wanted part of the dinner to consist of my lamb...

and so I did....

I came home on Friday to prepare everything and after a late breakfast I got straight onto the dinner where I made roast lamb, chicken, sausages, roasted vegies, salad, mashed potatos, onion mushroom and bacin side and anything else I wanted to make.....

All in all we were stuffed very soon after and yes, ample amounts of left overs were available.

Our Family arent reallr cake people, this was a big deal...my mum organised...shes so cute!

Can't even fit all the food in one shot!
