Room Nine - Surry Hills

Met up with Marc and Vi this morning as they were coming back from New Castle where they spent their New Years. We decided on Fifi Fourveax for a much craved Eggs Benedicts but sadly....they were closed. Where else....?? The was Bills but theys currently on my Banned List as I have given it 3 chances and 3 times their food took 2 hours to get to me and other tables were getting their meals before us (even though they all had ordered the typical scrambled eggs, corn fritters etc) so what else...? We continued down Crown Street and decided on Room Nine.

Started off with a Long Black which can always be abit of a hit and miss but went down very well here it was delicious!
Eddie decided on the Omlette with chorizo, red capsicum and spinach where as Marc, Vi and myself decided on the Eggs Benedict with Ham. The eggs were cooked quite well the yolks were runny while the whites were cooked through, I would have hoped the bread would have been the Turkish bread that the man with scrambled eggs was having but alas it wasnt and the Hollandaise sauce which alright was nothing special. The service on the otherhand was great and the prices were cheap so I cant really complain.

Omlette with Chorizo, red capsicum and spinach with tomato chutney - $12

Eggs Benedict with Ham - $12.90

Room Nine - City Crown Motel
289 Crown Street
Surry Hills, NSW 2010

I luuurrrrve poached eggs, yum. I live for cafes that offer great poached eggs when I wake up, generally the 2pm mark ;) And I love the fact that this day, I was on the mark, when I knew my best pal Khem would want brekky at that time too.

Anyhow, Marc and I were coming back from Gorokan, not Newcastle :) A great NYE!
