Royal Exchange Hotel - Marrickville

My boy is a fan of the Soccer, locally he follows Sydney FC, Marc, Vis boyf, also a big fan a VERY Big fan, they once won tickets to see Sydney in Japan we even saw them on TV looking miserable because it was cold and Sydney were losing.

Sunday it was Sydney vs. Adelaide...Sydney lost :( but we won with a cheap and tasy meal at the Royal Exchange Hotel in Marrickville
As we werent overly hungry (ok i wasnt hungry but Vi was starving and the guys didnt care because the game was one) we thought we would start with something small boy were we wrong.

We ordered garlic pizza, a trio of dips and two items of the tapas menu which were Madrid Meatballs and Mushrooms with Lemon and Garlic (on special $10 for Sundays).

Vi and Marc have spoken about the Royal Exchange and how much they like the value for money and the food is always good and they werent wrong. I was wary of the meatballs because I have had good meatballs and then some not so good...these were good! The sauce was plentiful but not overwhleming whiles there were around 6 meatballs enough to go around. The mushrooms were also amazing, there were so many they we couldnt even finish them and the lemon garlic sauce on top was so good for after meal dipping with toasted bread rolls YUM!

The Pizza was also really really surprising as I dont like thick bases but this was cripy on the outside and supersoft (not soggy) on the inside, delicious. As I have been gorging on Dips for the last two days I didnt have the trio of dips but its was appetising!
In the end while we had planned for dinner to follow we were all so stuffed we couldnt eat anymore!....until i got home and had more dip :)

Garlic and Parmesan Pizza

Garlic and Lemon MushroomMadrid Meatballs

Trio of Dips - what dips? I dont know but i think it was Tzitiki, Sun Dried Tomatos and Eggplant...I think

I had deep fried garlic mushrooms at a pub in dublin. I got severe stomach cramps and nausea that night. They were SO GROSS.
